   Compared to last week at Ft. Collins, CO and Kalona, IA slaughter
lambs were uneven, Ft. Collins 8.00-9.00 higher and 10.00-16.00 lower
at Kalona; slaughter ewes steady to 3.00 lower; feeder lambs not well
tested.  Equity Electronic Auction sold 1200 slaughter lambs in
California.
 
Slaughter Lambs:  Choice and Prime 2-3 90-150 lbs:
  Ft. Collins:    wooled 145-175 lbs 130.00-160.00.
  Kalona, IA:     no test.
  Virginia:       wooled 90-110 lbs 188.00.
  Equity Elec:    shorn 145-165 lbs 143.50.
Slaughter Lambs:  Choice and Prime 1-2:
  Ft. Collins:    40-60 lbs 220.00-250.00; 60-80 lbs 230.00-240.00; 80-
                  90 lbs 235.00-255.00; 100-105 lbs 230.00-232.50.

Sheep and lamb slaughter under federal inspection for the week to date
totaled 31,000 compared with 31,000 last week and 26,000 for last year.
