DTN COMMENTS:  Cash cattle country is quiet at midday, with just a few 
early asking prices noted around $232 in the South, but they are still 
not established in the North. Bids remain very elusive. Significant trade 
volume will likely be delayed until later today and/or Friday. The Fed 
Cattle Exchange reported some trade in Kansas and Texas at $230.50 to 
$232.

Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 348.00 -0.20, select 342.39 -
0.77), with moderate to good box movement (83.32 lds of choice cuts, 6.88 
lds of select cuts, 13.83 lds of trim, and 8.05 lds of ground). Near the 
top of the noon hour both live and feeder cattle contracts are mostly sharply 
higher.
