DTN COMMENTS: Just a few bids on the table at midday, following the last 
three days of light to moderate business. Southern live deals have been 
marked at mostly $182, fully steady with last week's weighted averages. 
While Northern live sales were at mostly $294, generally $2 higher than 
the prior week's weighted averages. Asking prices for cattle left on 
showlists are around $184 in Kansas and Texas, and $296-plus in Nebraska 
and Iowa. 

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 298.42 +1.50, select 288.47 -
1.19) with light to moderate box movement (63.41 lds of choice cuts, 
19.04 lds of select cuts, 3.04 lds of trim, and 6.32 lds of ground). 
Cattle futures at the top of the noon hour are sharply higher on both 
live and feeder contracts.
